Being Memorable: Mara Zingg

Being Memorable: Mara Zingg

At Atrium Management Company, we’re constantly inspired by the dedication and drive of our team members. This month, we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on Mara Zingg, our Regional Manager based in Richmond, Virginia. She’s been with Atrium just over a year, and Mara has already made an indelible mark on the company with her commitment to excellence and community.

Hailing from Sherwood, Oregon, Mara brings a blend of small-town spirit and high professional standards to Atrium. When asked about her favorite foods and pastimes, she reveals her love for Thai food and a fondness for baseball games, particularly the small-town leagues that bring communities together.

One of Mara’s favorite travel destinations is Östersund, Sweden, a city that holds a special place in her heart because her granddaughter, Ellie, now lives there. Her family connections are a key part of Mara’s identity, grounding her in the values of loyalty and kindness — qualities she brings to Atrium in abundance.

As a Regional Manager, Mara finds great satisfaction in helping people make one of the most important decisions of their lives: finding a place to call home. “I love the vibe of the team,” she says, reflecting on how Atrium’s supportive and collaborative culture enables everyone to work toward their goals together. Mara is especially inspired by the example set by Atrium’s leadership, whom she describes as leading by example. “They make me proud to be a part of such an amazing company,” she adds.

For Mara, embodying Atrium’s “Be Memorable” core value is a daily practice. “Every day, I try to follow the example set by our leaders. I do my best not to be outworked, to find the ‘yes’ in every situation, and to leave things better than I found them.” This determination to go above and beyond aligns with her favorite Atrium core value, “Order the pizza.” Initially puzzled by the phrase, Mara recalls her reaction: “I remember looking at Michael Krause, thinking, ‘We manage properties, not perform miracles!’” But watching Michael find creative ways to make things work changed her perspective, and she now approaches her role with the same “can-do” spirit.

Beyond her role, Mara is dedicated to community involvement. Currently, she and her team are organizing a silent auction to support a team member facing health challenges. “More to come on this,” Mara says, underscoring Atrium’s culture of compassion and support.

With her eye on industry trends, Mara is keenly focused on affordable housing. She regularly takes courses and seeks out new developments in the field to ensure Atrium stays ahead of the curve. In her words, “Affordable housing is short on experienced professionals, so I want to stay sharp and knowledgeable.”

Looking to the future, Mara’s ambitions are as strong as her dedication. She envisions building a Mid-Atlantic region of at least 3,000 units, where Atrium’s incredible team can continue to grow. “I want to create even more opportunities for our team,” she says, excited about what lies ahead.

With her commitment to growth, teamwork, and memorable service, Mara Zingg is already a vital part of Atrium’s story in Richmond. We’re thrilled to have her on board and look forward to seeing all she will accomplish!
